The multi-talented Debi Nova has made a multi-channel world premiere with her first music video of the infectious single, “Drummer Boy.” The eye-popping clip made its debut on MTV, MTV Hits, MTV Tr3s, and MTV.com on Thursday, February 11th. Sister channel Logo will premiere the video on Tuesday, February 16th. MTV Tr3s will also feature Nova in their six week, new artist series, “Descubre & Download,” beginning Monday, February 15th. Nova is in good company, with previous artists featured in this program such as Ximena Sariñana, Jesse & Joy, Colby O'Donis and Kat De Luna. MTV Tr3s’ Descubre & Download is a destination to discover what's new in music, and Debi feels honored to have been chosen for this exciting opportunity.
“Drummer Boy” was co-written by Nova and is now available at both iTunes and Amazon. The Costa Rican-born songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist is set to release her North American, English/Spanish hybrid debut, Luna Nueva (Surco/Decca) this spring.
Filmed in the beautiful Vasquez Rocks State Park in California, the “Drummer Boy” video is a visually captivating clip capturing this exciting artist’s magnetism, charisma and presence. Nova is featured dancing the freestyle, energetic “murga” – a street/carnival dance from Uruguay and Argentina, including the “borracho,” or “drunk” dance, often done to express the joy of life. Director Thomas Kloss brings to life this vibrant, passionate and playful, hip-hop-inspired song, with gorgeous landscapes, and the natural environment as Debi’s backdrop. Kloss has contributed directing and/or photography credits on an impressive array of music videos from superstars including The Pussycat Dolls, Justin Timberlake, Marilyn Manson and Jennifer Lopez to name a few.
