Take a Chance... It's Surprisingly Brilliant!,

It does take you about 20 minutes to settle down from the excitement of this outstanding cast singing their hearts out. I'm not the biggest 'movical' fan but if go in with an open mind and a bunch of people and you'll leave uplifted and pleasantly surprised.4/29/2010 2:27 AM (GMT-04:00)

Momma Mia--DVD Movie 2 Disc

I have been deeply involved in high-end a/v for over 50 years. The sound recording of this movie is superb; it can only be 100% appreciated played thru a high quality sound system. The movie makes one "Forget your troubles and just be happy". I have watched the movie some 8 times and there are more viewings ahead. I have sent email dowloads to a large numer of friends urging them, if they have not already purchased, buy the disc(s). As good as the stage show is, it really cannot compare to the movie for many obvious reasons. If Streep loses any of the award shows I'll be greatly surprised. To the doubters---see the movie!! Chicago was great and received a number of awards, Momma Mia is better!! Who is better? Gere or Bronson?

Mamma Mia! What happened to . . .

I see others have noticed the CD doesn't carry all the songs. Also missing is I do, I do, I do. So what's up with that. I loved the movie, in fact, going again today, only number 5 for me. 9/24/2008 6:27 AM (GMT-04:00)

Mama Mia the Movie is the best!!!

I have been to see this film 6 times, pre-ordered the dvd- two copies, because I know I will wear one of them out real quick!!. Hopefully, Decca is reviewing these reviews because I am going to repeat the note I sent to them to forward to Mr. Anthony Van Laast, the choreographer, to consider making an exercise dvd featuring the music and dance moves adapted from Mama Mia. I do not think I have ever seen a more perfect film to provide the wanna-be singers and dancers in this world to transport  them to Greece and be apart of this movie!!!  Please, Decca, think about this idea!!!

Mamma Mia

The movie is amazing!  I've seen it 5 times so far.  Can hardly wait for the DVD to be released.  The cast is fantastic!  Meryl Streep is extraordinary!  She has successfully played so many different roles, but this time, for me, is the best (I love musicals)!  She's an amazing lady!
I'm disappointed that the Soundtrack is not a "true" soundtrack.  It's missing a few key songs (Chiquitita, I Do, Waterloo) and includes a song not in the movie(The Name of the Game).  I love listening(and dancing) to the songs and recalling the related movie scenes.  Thank You for the Music, a beautiful song sung at the end during the credits, is also not included.  It's unfortunate the soundtrack is not complete.

More than LOVE it!!!

I can watch it over and over and over again! Can't wait for the DVD to come out in Taiwan. Really want to have the soundtrack, a liitle sad though, cos someone in previous reviews said that the soundtrack ain't complete, then again, it really is hard to get all the little clips in the movie into the "complete" soundtrack. So, definitely waiting for the DVD!!!! Timeless as the tunes are, they are now refreshed in my mind, and can't get them out of my head no matter what! Luv luv luv it!8/23/2008 1:09 AM (GMT-04:00)

Loved the film but soundtrack incomplete

I have seen the stage show twice and the movie 3 times.  I loved both and can't wait for the DVD.  I won't be buying the soundtrack though because it is incomplete.  I want all the songs in the movie including the reprisals.  I don't want only part of the actual soundtrack.  It's too bad because I really wanted to purchase it.  I will just console myself with the Broadway soundtrack which does have all the music from that version.8/16/2008 7:55 AM (GMT-04:00)

MAMMA MIA

Has got to be the most feel good movie ever, can't stop singing and dancing everytime I hear a tune from this fantastic film.  I don't think there is one actor/actress who doesn't deserve to be in this movie, they are all fantastic and it has been the most entertaining film for a long time.  Well done to everyone concerned in the making of this wonderful film and I can't wait for the DVD to come out.  Roll on a 2nd movie!!!!!!

I have the proud honour of being told that I look like Meryl Streep by countless people so I find that a great privilege.

Best of "08

This is by far the best musical brought from Broadway and made into a motion picture movie. I've seen it once, but plan to go see it again before it leaves theaters. I will be first in line to buy it when it comes to DVD. Can't wait. This is by far the best movie I've seen in a long time, best musical viewed as a motion picture I've ever seen. Great job!8/3/2008 7:53 PM (GMT-04:00)

Mamma Mia is absolutely fantastic...

I have seen it three times since July 23. I plan to go again Monday night. I love the music, the cast was perfect, the scenery, just the entire movie. I think men will like it if they will just GO! That chick-flick thing is blown out of proportion. Women see and like action films. I read some reviews that said that Brosnan needed more voice lessons. I really think that Brosnan and the other ads" were more believable as the "real people" they played. I would not expect it to have been any other way. I wish I had been more like Streep's character and taken more chances as a young adult in the rock era. The movie had a few sad scenes that touched me but they made the film. I did not see it on stage but I can't imagine that it could ever have been any better on stage. Some stage productions should stay on stage, not this one....I am hooked and can't wait to get the DVD and soundtrack.7/27/2008 11:17 AM (GMT-04:00)

Terrific Movie and Music

Loved the movie...will see it again and then buy the dvd.  I, too, was disappointed that Waterloo was not on the soundtrack.  I hope it gets made available somehow.  I was really surprised at the musical talent from the stars.  They all appeared to have really enjoyed themselves.  My husband absolutely loved the movie as well, so it isn't just a "chick flick."  7/23/2008 1:26 PM (GMT-04:00)

It was Amazing!

This is one of those all  time classics that I will watch over and over and never get sick of seeing it, it is beyond a musical , movie , love story. A hopeless romantic at heart this movie gives a whole new meaning to true love. Thank-you so much for keeping true love alive in our hearts..........I will be singing ABBA tunes for a long time to come ....7/22/2008 5:40 AM (GMT-04:00)

Cameos

Did you notice Benny and Bjorn in different cameos in the movie?

I spotted them instantly.

I promise, I only mouthed the lyrics!

I wish I could've bought the DVD immediately after seeing the movie.

LOVED IT, BUT...

I loved the movie and the soundtrack is GREAT!!!
With ONE exception...  Waterloo is missing!
I was bouncing in my seat at the theater when it came on!  It was SO fabulous!  I wish it had been included on the soundtrack!
Maybe Decca can release it as a special download for the fans, re-release the soundtrack when the DVD comes out or just include it as a bonus to download with the purchase of the DVD.
What great ideas if I do say so myself ; )7/20/2008 5:39 PM (GMT-04:00)

I love this collaboration

I knew as soon as I saw the movie trailer on ET that I was going to love this movie.  But what also surprised me was the clip of Pierce and Meryl in Greece separated by the wall.  Their take on SOS sold me and I have to have this CD.  You had me at SOS. Ha, ha.  Love you guys.  Kimberly from Palm Springs, CA.
